Although the 2.32% Voltaren gel is for external application to relieve pain and inflammation, a very small amount of diclofenac gel 2.32 does enter the blood circulation. Nevertheless, such systemic absorption is comparatively less than what is seen with oral NSAIDs and the chances of systemic adverse effects are diminished.
