During the initial fitting of a donut pessary, you may experience mild, temporary discomfort or pressure, but a properly fitted donut pessary should not cause significant pain. Once in place, you should not be able to feel the donut pessary. If you feel significant pain or ongoing discomfort, the pessary does not fit correctly and you should consult your healthcare provider.
